ECO is the native digital currency of Eco Network. This paper describes what the network is, how it works today and the rules that protect it. It is written to be read by a member of the network.

1. The problem

Digital currencies have become famous, and yet they remain out of reach for most people. Three barriers explain most of it.

Mining excludes almost everyone. Proof of work rewards whoever can buy the most hardware and the cheapest electricity. It is industrial, capital intensive and energy hungry. An individual with a phone is not a participant in that system; they are a spectator.

Getting a first coin means risking money. The usual path is to open an exchange account, pass identity checks, deposit funds and buy. For someone who simply wants to understand what this is, that is an expensive first step, taken on trust in a platform they have not yet learned to evaluate.

Most projects are built for insiders. Wallets, keys and jargon put off the people who simply want to take part. Eco Network starts with an app that anyone can open and understand in a minute.

2. What Eco Network is

Eco Network is a community network built around one digital currency, ECO. It runs through a mobile application: members join with an email address, take part for a few seconds a day, and the network grows with every member who does the same.

Its boundaries are as deliberate as its features:

• Participation is the way in. There is nothing to buy, and no way to buy your way up: every member starts on the same base rate.
• The market section of the app is built for reading, not for trading. It informs; it never executes anything.
• Your phone runs no blockchain client: it validates nothing and stores no ledger.

3. Proof of participation

Proof of work answers the question "who spent the most computation?". Eco Network asks a different question: "who is genuinely, repeatedly taking part?" That question does not need a processor to answer it. It needs an identity, a clock, and a server that cannot be lied to.

How a session works

• A member starts a session with a single action in the app.
• The session has a fixed duration of 24 hours, the same for everyone.
• It runs entirely on Eco Network's servers. The application can be closed, the phone can be switched off, the connection can drop: the session is unaffected.
• When it ends, the member is notified and claims it. Claiming credits the balance and lets a new session begin.
• There is a limited window in which a finished session can be claimed. This is deliberate: the network measures participation, and a member who never returns is no longer participating.

Why the phone stays idle

Because nothing is computed on it. The device sends two requests over the session's lifetime, "start" and "claim", and displays a countdown between them. There is no background process, no hashing, no wake lock. This is not an optimisation; it is the design. A model in which a phone had to work would be worse for the member, worse for their battery, and worse for the planet, and it would exclude exactly the people this network exists for.

What changes a member's rate

Every member starts on the same base rate. Two things raise it, and both come from taking part:

• Your level. As your total grows, you move up through the levels shown in the app, and each level adds a fixed share to your rate, from +4% to +15%.
• The people you bring in who genuinely take part. Each active referral adds 5% to your rate, up to a ceiling of +50%.

Both are fixed when a session starts, so what you see during the session is what you receive. Nothing you can buy changes what a session produces.

4. Architecture

Eco Network has three parts, with a strict division of authority.

The application

A native mobile application built with Flutter, from a single codebase. It holds no authority over the economy. It displays state, it asks the server to act, and it caches data so the app stays usable on a slow or absent connection. Every balance it shows was computed elsewhere.

The authority server

A dedicated service that is the sole writer of balances, sessions and referral attachments. The application authenticates each call with the member's identity token; the server verifies that token before doing anything. Every operation that touches the economy runs inside a database transaction with a deterministic identity, so that a retry, a lost response or a race between two devices can never credit the same thing twice.

Identity and storage

Accounts are held by a managed authentication provider with mandatory email verification; profile and activity data live in a managed document database. Access rules on that database are restrictive by design: a member can read their own record and modify only a short, explicit list of presentation fields, such as display name, handle, biography, country, avatar, watchlist and notification tokens. Balance, session count, total mined and referrer are not in that list, and cannot be written from a device at all.

5. The referral graph

The network grows by invitation, so the attachment between an inviter and the person they invited has to be correct every time. The rules are deliberately narrow.

• The server decides, always. The application never resolves a code into a person; it only carries the code. Attachment is written by the server, in the same transaction that opens the account, and nowhere else.
• An invitation survives waiting. A code captured from a link is stored on the device and remains valid for a long period. Someone can open a link, close everything, come back days later, and still sign up attached to the person who invited them.
• Attachment happens once. It occurs only while an account is new. An established member who clicks an invitation is not attached to anyone: referral concerns new members, not existing ones.
• You cannot invite yourself. Self referral is rejected server side, as are unknown and malformed codes.
• A referral counts only if it is real. The inviter receives 1 ECO when the person they invited completes their first mining session, and a higher rate while that person keeps taking part. Creating accounts that never participate brings nothing.

An invitation link opens a page that hands the code to the application if it is installed, and points to the store if it is not. The code is always shown in readable form, so the invitation still works even if nothing opens automatically.

6. Integrity and anti-fraud

A network that measures participation is only meaningful if participation is genuine. Several mechanisms defend it, all enforced on the server:

• Verified email required. An unverified account cannot mine, cannot be credited and cannot be attached to a referrer.
• One account per person. Duplicate accounts, emulators, automation and scripted clients are prohibited and lead to suspension with the balance frozen.
• Server held time. Session start and end are stamped by the server. The device clock is never trusted.
• Idempotent credits. Each credit has a deterministic identity, so replaying a request cannot duplicate it.
• Restrictive data rules. As described above, economic fields are unwritable from a device.
• Encrypted transport. All communication is over HTTPS.

7. ECO

ECO is the native digital currency of Eco Network, and it is at the center of everything the network builds. Today it also reflects how much a member has taken part: sessions completed, people genuinely brought in, presence over time.

Where ECO lives

Inside the member's Eco Network account, in the wallet built into the app, with the full history of every movement. It is credited by the server: when a session is claimed, once as a welcome credit when an account is opened, and when a referral completes their first session. The application has no purchase, no transfer and no exchange: today, ECO is received by taking part.

Why this paper contains no figures and no dates

This paper publishes no supply figure and no calendar. We would rather publish what a member can verify from inside the app today: the session duration, the fact that the base rate is identical for everyone, the level and referral bonuses and their ceiling. Figures and schedules will be published if and when they describe something real.

8. Market data and news

The application shows real market data: digital currencies, equities, commodities, indices and currency pairs. Crypto prices are streamed continuously and arrive without any action from the member; other classes are polled at a reasonable interval, since they trade on markets that close.

Three rules govern how this is presented, because the alternative is to mislead:

• Nothing is invented. Eco Network does not produce prices and does not write articles. It relays public market data providers and the news publishers themselves, and articles open at their source.
• Freshness is stated. When data comes from cache, or a market is closed, the app says so rather than presenting an old figure as live.
• Currency is stated. Prices can be displayed in any of over 150 currencies, converted at the current rate for display only, and the app always names the currency it is speaking in.

9. Privacy

The application collects what an account needs and nothing more: an email address, a name, activity within the network (sessions, balance, referrals, watchlist), and the region setting and app version of the phone. It does not collect contacts, precise location, photos or files. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

A member can delete their account and its data at any time, from inside the application or from a public page, without contacting anyone.

10. Reach and accessibility

The network is built for the places where a mid range phone on a slow connection is the normal case, not the exception.

• Six interface languages: English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Indonesian and Chinese.
• Over 150 display currencies, so prices read in the money a member actually uses.
• The application opens, and remains readable, without a connection, showing what it last knew and saying that it is doing so.
• A dark, high contrast interface designed to stay legible on inexpensive screens and in bright light.

11. How the network evolves

Priorities are set by what members actually do, and changes ship when they are ready rather than when a calendar says so, which is why no dated roadmap appears here. The direction is nevertheless stated, so it can be judged later:

• Keep growing a real, verified community: everything Eco Network builds depends on it.
• Keep the app simple enough that anyone can take part in a minute.
• Widen language and currency coverage as members arrive from new places.
• Strengthen anti-fraud as the network grows: the network is worth exactly the honesty of its participation.
• Present each new stage on this site and in the app when it is ready, not before.

This paper is a living document. It is revised in place as the network changes, and its version number is raised when the substance changes.
